The location was great. Having been to the area many times we knew what to expect. The evening meal was very nice indeed.

My parents were booked in for the week. My sister and I had arranged to go up and spend the day with them, so as a surprise we booked a room for one night. The en-suite although been modenized was tiny. No hook on the back of the door, the shower was very compact, there wasn't anywhere to put our toilet bags we had to put them on the floor. The actual bedroom was quite cramped, with twim beds, mine was nearest the slope of the roof and I hit my head on it a couple of times on getting out of bed. We joked and called it the servants quaters! The TV reception we know from previous experience is very poor in that part of the world. Although we had a flat sceen, our parents had an old fashioned bulky set. For the amount of money paid by ourselves and parents they really should have Satelite fitted. Lastly the breakfast was £10 and we forgot to book ourselves in for it the night before, however we weren't asked when we checked in either. At dinner we saw a menu where we could order breakfast being itemized. The following morning we went down with our parents, my sister ordered the £10 meal, but I didn't want to pay £10 just for 2 slices of toast and coffee. The waitress said what we had seen the night before we couldn't order from, but I could have toast and coffee for no extra charge. This was all very awkward and certainly very unclear.I have marked no for the next question simply because the prices are too high

Lovely building, lovely views, average food. Very clean, and nice simple unfussy rooms. Would go again but would not eat there (see below).

Service level generally poor. Staff seemed young and/or inexperienced, although generally friendly. We were shown to our room by the receptionist. When we queried our room (it didn't fit the phone description) she said she would ask, but she didn't get back to us. We made a reservation to eat in the bar as we have a small child and wanted a fast and simple meal. We arrived at 7, the waitresses (one of whom was the receptionist) ignored us for ages, I eventually obtained a menu from them by asking. 'Oh are you eating with us' was her response!! Then, after about 20 mins, I asked if they would take our order. Almost an hour later our (very simple food) arrived, albeit with a few bits missing. We finished dining at 9:30. They claimed to be busy, but the other people in the bar were just drinking, and the dining room wasn't very busy. Breakfast also very slow. One item of food wasn't very nice, we queried it, no response from the kitchen. The food was ok, nothing special.

Excellent location in an unspoiled corner of the coast.Linda the waitress was great.

Young girl behind the bar forgot to put through our lunch order and we were waiting well over an hour.

The historical building - very unique and full of charactrer. The grounds of the hotel has lawned terraces and it is set on the cliffs overlooking the sea. It is very peaceful. The staff were freindly and the dining in the restaurant was excellent. A peaceful retreat.

Would recommend it for a short stay - bit too peaceful for for me to stay longer - no entertainment at the Hotel or surrounding area. Perhaps, if it wants to take the relaxinhg niche - it could do with offering SPA treatment / or swim / Hot Tubs. It has the potential to expand.

The staff were very attentive and were very delibrate in their efforts to identify ways to help make our stay what we needed it to be.

Negative tone of the hotel towards children, although in fairness this was not very aparent through the staff.

We had the attention of a couple of young members of staff who were very sweet and attentive and were so helpful.

An older member of staff chiding a younger member of staff about something she'd done right in front of us upon arrival. It did not create a good impression and we both felt uncomfortable and embarassed for the younger member of staff.

The dining room and other public rooms were excellent. The hotel was very dog friendly, the only time I have been given dog towels.

The staff seemed a little undertrained - so there were issues about the finer touches - for example the wrong name on booking confirmation and double not twin stated.

A beautiful old fashioned hotel in a glorious location. Loved sitting on the terrace looking out at the sea, children had a great time running round the gardens and we were able to relax with a drink and watch them without worrying about their safety. Loved the old fashioned lift. Friendly staff, especially Aimee, a trainee, who was just lovely.

Our only minor disappointment was that for some reason we were unable to connect to the WI-FI facility. We tried many different areas around the hotel and grounds to see if we could pick it up, but no joy!

Quiet location,Well kept Grounds, Presentation of Food,Majority of staff polite and friendly.Good selection of table games in lounge area

Ambiguity in presentation of items on Invoice,Upkeep of Grounds around "Cottage"area could have been better

Very nice gardens overlooking the sea although we could not walk down to the sea shore directly from the hotel

Our room was a bit on the small side overlooking the road which may be because we booked at the last minute and took the last room available.
